Abstract

These works capture the spiritual atmoshere of a particular place. However, in the process of painting, other similar places have become embedded in the piece until the picture has become arcetypal. These pictures are foggy and mysterious, capturing the nature of memory. The boudaries between real and unreal are muddied, as are the boundaries between abstraction and realism. These are landscapes of the memory.
